Founded on principles of relaxed living, Perspicasity, the popular clothing bazaar has always stayed true to its original mission of providing fashionable clothing made of natural fibers. In Seaside’s early days, creator Daryl Davis ran a produce stand in this now famous location. She soon found that her customers were more interested in the clothes on her back than the fruits and vegetables on her stands. So responding to demand, she began to carry a few cotton items and was pleased to see her clothing sell out each week.
Twenty-five years later shoppers are still perusing wares in the original beachside cottages. Each little 56-square-foot hut is arranged like a vignette so the customer has an idea of how to wear the style. The open-air market carries clothing that can transcend the beach lifestyle from one year to another. In addition, Perspicasity offers a wide assortment of bohemian accessories and house wares ranging from straw cowboy hats, French market totes, Havaiana flip flops, handmade jewelry, batik sarongs, colorful cotton mats, and festive vases.
